La Lancha surf break is the most consistent and conveniently located surf break in the Bay of Banderas, hosting multiple peaks that can satisfy all levels of surfers. The secluded beach of La Lancha is only accessible via a narrow walking path through a beautiful jungle reserve. This beach is devoid of everything except beach and surf – there are no vendors, restaurants, facilities, etc. Providing visitors and locals with a unique beach experience that defines authentic Mexico!
Learning to surf in Punta Mita is ideal for beginner surfers as they can take lessons with our certified coaches at Wild Mex. Confident intermediate-advanced surfers can rent a board and walk the 7-10 minute trail through the beautiful jungle path, to the pristine La Lancha beach, with its white sand, clean water and long mellow waves.

Conditions
- Punctuality is essential: Guests must arrive on time at the agreed meeting point for their return to Sayulita or San Pancho. All returns depart from the Wildmex surf shop at La Lancha.
- No-show policy: If you are late or miss your scheduled ride, you will need to arrange and pay for your own transportation back.
- Advance payment: Full payment is required in advance to secure your shuttle reservation.
Our coaches always strive to keep the group together. However, it is your responsibility to stay aware of your group’s location and return with them. (Lessons include 2 hours at the beach.) If you stay longer or miss your group, we cannot guarantee a return ride to Sayulita.

WildMex operates airport transfers to Sayulita and Punta Mita from Puerto Vallarta Airport, ensuring a hassle-free journey to your destination in this beautiful area. And if you are worried about making it to the airport for your return journey, we offer round trips to ensure you reach the airport in plenty of time.
To get to WildMex, it is best to fly into Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR). PVR is the closest airport to Sayulita and Punta Mita, and it receives both national and international flights from many cities in Canada and the United States.
Sunny Sayulita is approximately 28 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, and the journey takes 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic. The beautiful Punta de Mita is slightly closer, around 25 miles to the north, with a similar journey time.
If you opt to take an airport transfer with WildMex, we will pick you up straight from Arrivals. One of our team will be waiting for you with your name and destination details, and the car will be waiting just outside to take you to your destination in this beautiful area.
On the return journey, one of the WildMex team will pick you up at your accommodation and drop you off safely at the airport. It’s simple, safe, and we will take care of everything to make sure you are at the airport in plenty of time to catch your flight, so you can relax and enjoy your vacation right up to the very end!
